District Community Eye Center (DCEC): DCEC has been running in Phaplu, Solukhumbu since 2003 in collaboration with Tilganda Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO) with support from Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP), USA. The DCEC runs cataract surgical camps in Solukhumbu each year. More than 5 thousand people have benefitted through this programme annually.

The building for DCEC has been completed with the funding support of Himalayan Cataract Project. With the construction of the new building for DCEC advanced services are being planned.
